Middle School Art: Optical Illusions

Students studied the short-lived 1960s "Op-Art" movement by looking at the work of Bridget Riley and Yaacov Agam.  Students were amazed by the geometric paintings that really seemed to move.  Inspired by this art form, they created their own pieces of op-art paying special attention to rhythm and repetition.  Students also practiced creating value with colored pencils to add depth to the illusion.

Laura F's coming soon!
